IMPORTANT - Re-submission of work for the Foundation Portfolio

All Students re-submitting work have until 12 noon on Friday 18th November to complete and submit all of their work. Evaluations will be completed on the blog. There will be no presentations.

The questions that must be addressed in the evaluation are:
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Who would be the audience for your media product?

How did you attract/address your audience?

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

The final post on the blog must contain the final versions of the magazine front cover, contents and double page along with the title "Final Products". No print work will be submitted so all evidence must be on the Blog.

Regular Blogging Means Quality Marks for All

Please take note.
Your advanced production blogs must be updated weekly at the very least, this will demonstrate your steady progress and reflect better on your organisation and planning than sudden spurts of blogs followed by weeks of silence.

Those resubmitting work for the Foundation Portfolio must see me as soon as possible with their blog addresses to make sure I am able to access their blogs and comment on progress.

Deadline 25th March

Deadline
All videos and ancillary tasks must be completed, printed (built in the case of digipacks) and ready for marking this Friday (25th March 2011) by 2.30pm.
Focus your efforts this week on completing these practical tasks to the very highest standard possible.

Blogs:
There appear to be some concerns regarding blog security. Just bear in mind what is written beneath (taken from the OCR specification);

"The awarding body must require centres to obtain from each candidate a signed declaration that authenticates the coursework they produce as their own."

Mr. Palmer and I have to sign a similar declaration and should we be unsatisfied that the work presented is your own you will be withdrawn from this section of the course.
I am certain this will not be the case.

Deadlines approaching

You must all be aware that your practical projects should be approaching completion. At this stage you must be keeping on top of your blogs and spending time developing and improving all aspects of your production.

Blogs: make sure you are addressing the evaluation questions and there is clear evidence that you have played an important part in all stages of te production. Remember you should not just dump pictures into your entries, you need analysis as well.

Practical work: ancillary tasks should be virtually complete. You must get (and make a record of) feedback from teachers, the target audience and fellow students. The video editing should be well underway. Save a rough cut and post it to show progression on your blog.

You are in control of your marks, don't relax, the deadlines are close!
